Bedding and more.....

One of the things we needed to pass our Home Study was to show that we have enough bedding for everyone. So a couple of weeks ago we purchased a bunk bed in Brigham City for only $50! What a deal and it is still in really good shape. But today we finally purchased the mattresses to go on the bed. These things might not seem like much to most of you but to us these little things make it one step closer. We have moved all our medicines and such to the laundry room in containers and then put a new locking door knob on it. Our household cleaners are now locked away under the sink thanks to these new child safety lock magnets. (way cool little devise) We have a new locking cabinet out in the garage for all the stuff out there. I am pretty sure that we are ready to go! If we could just move time faster that would be great. Thanks again for all your support and donations. Every little bit helps us out greatly.

Not again!

So we found out today that we have to do our background check again! UGH!! Because we are getting our home study done through an agency. The state will not share our information with this agency. Really??? It's my information and I should be able to choose who gets to see it. I know that there is going to be snags a long the way but I think this one is sort of ridiculous. We just really hope that this one won't take as long as the other one. Phone calls are made so now we just wait for instructions. Wish us luck!

Sad Times

Every year around this time there is a part of me that is sad. My heart hurts for all these kids that don't have a mom and dad. You see pictures of them on TV, you hear radio ads and see articles in the paper or magazines. There are so many kids out there that just want to be a part of something. If I was rich and had a big enough house I would bring them all to live with me. No child should ever be without a family. I see these two kids who we will call S & S (because their names both start with S) and hope that they are being loved and cared for. If I could go pick them up today I would, only thing is that might be considered kidnapping. :) You see kids that spend their whole lives in Foster Care and eventually they turn 18 and they are out on their own. They never get the chance to know what a family is and feel true love. I never want S&S to have to go through another holiday without a family. If you feel like you might have space in your heart for another child or maybe your first child please check into adopting from Foster Care. Everyone needs to be loved.

A little info......

So without giving to much details I wanted to tell you all about the kids we have our fingers crossed for. They are a brother/sister group. He is 10 and she is 4. One has a birthday in September and one in January. They both love to swim! That is a huge plus considering we have a pool and my kids turn into fish during the summer. They are both in foster care right now, we have not officially met them. We are waiting for a few more things to finish up and then we can proceed. If you all could keep us in your thoughts and prayers we would greatly appreciate it. These two kids are in search of a forever family and we really hope it is ours.
